BlancheWear started as a project inspired by my personal journey into professional life. A change in my idea of life came out of this problem: the clothing I shopped for rarely fit well resulting in a compromise of my identity, a compartmentalized view of professional and stylish.
As a hard working twenty-something with an active social life I wondered how people discover "their style" when these two realities are constantly separated? Without relying on two separate wardrobes, I dressed up my casual pieces and dressed down my professional pieces. I discovered what was missing from the idea of self expression through clothing choice is practicality.
Achieving work-life balance was made easier with this simple shift to my understanding of life rather than style. Clothing brands that market to younger generations challenge the idea of style in ways which do not attend to our daily lives and the reality is that height based criteria is misconstrued and as a result it is hard to find clothes for the petite frame, especially whilst building a professional profile.
